Hello!  My name is Semira Julia Bullock. I am a Sophomore Public Relations major at Howard University. I have the honor to participate in the 2019-2020 Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant.

The donations will go towards the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated Alpha Chapter's programming, community outreach, and pageant costs for the upcoming school year. 

If selected as the next Miss Omega Psi Phi, I will carry out my initiative Uplifting Roots. The initiative will bridge the gap between Howard University students and the elders in the Washington, DC community through volunteering at nursing homes, donating food for food pantries, and starting a hygiene product drive for the homeless.

I live by the proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child." Uplifting Roots is near and dear to my heart because my Great-Grandma, Ruth Brooks, has been a part of my village since day one.  The inspiration of my initiative, Ruth Brooks, turned 102 years old Today April 17th (exactly a week before the pageant). 

I would greatly appreciate your support and donations. The pageant is April 24th, and I only have a WEEK to raise the funds. All donations are welcomed, no contribution is too small or too large. I appreciate your consideration to join the village. Thank you!
