Miss New York for America Strong

My name is Rania. I am 32 years old and my current title is Miss Brooklyn for America Strong.
I grew up with three older brothers, so you can imagine how interesting it was for me. We grew up on wrestling, basketball and football, whether we were watching or playing it. As I grew older, I grew out of my tomboy shell and began to develop a love for fitness. At 32, I have weight lifted on and off for about 16 years and it is something I can't live without.
In the year 2017, I lost my best friend, my confidant, my angel, my mother. I can't begin to describe the toll that took on me. Growing up, I always believed I would be the one to turn old and grey, while my mom would stay young and beautiful. We tend to look at our parents as being untouchable and unbreakable, so sometimes, we don't realize just how fragile they really are. Losing her was the hardest thing I had to go through, and one of the hardest things I am still trying to go through. There is more to my back story, but I ask that you stay tuned to find out.
This year, I decided to run for the Miss New York for America Strong Pageant! I currently hold the Miss Brooklyn Title, and with your help, I am looking to take it all the way! You can hop on this journey with me by following me on instagram @missbrooklynforamericastrong
When telling people about this pageantry experience, a lot of them ask why? To which I respond, why not? Life is short! This my first time doing a pageant and it is nerve wracking and exciting, all at the same time. Why you may ask, it's all actually because of my niece, Jasmine. She ran for a Little Miss title in New Jersey, and won! She persuaded me that this is something I should try, especially because it is way out of my comfort zone.
Now that you got my backstory, I am hoping you would donate to this page! My goal is to use a 1/4 of this money for my necessities (travel, coaches, etc) and take the remaining 3/4 and donate it to a mental health facility to further assist those in need. Any little bit helps and I hope to come back here in June and tell you Brooklyn took over the Miss New York for America strong!
Thank you for your time today, and I hope you have a happy and blessed day!
