Miss Mamie's Care: Support Needed

My friend, Miss Mamie, is a vibrant 91-year-old who is now legally blind and battling dementia. Because of her rapidly declining health, Miss Mamie now requires round-the-clock care. Her income (social security) and modest home make her ineligible for Medicaid. That same income is too little to afford a stay in a nursing home.

In her most active years, Miss Mamie worked as top dietitian/cook at former Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood, SC (Now, Self Regional Healthcare), creating nutritional meal options for Self's patients and staff. This little lady has a very independent spirit, but she does realize and accept that she can no longer live by herself.

Miss Mamie wants to remain in her home as she and her health care team continue to address her declining health. The goal is to help her do that. The care that she needs requires more than Miss Mamie can afford on her income. We are asking for your help to cover the cost of a live-in care provider. Twenty-four-hour care can range from $25 - $75 per hour, depending on the amount of care needed.

All available funds raised will be used for Miss Mamie's care needs. Any amount you can give to help reach the goal will be a most appreciated blessing. No amount is too small. Thank you in advance for helping my friend.
