Miss Heidi Klum

Miss Heidi Klum was my beautiful Miniature Schnauzer. She came into my heart with these long, gangly legs and endless energy. I chose that name to honour her German heritage and fun spirit. On June 8th she got quite sick very quickly and I rushed her to the vet. Tests showed she had a lot of fluid in her abdomen and she underwent emergency surgery. She had sepsis and surgery was tough on her, she couldn’t keep her blood pressure up. There were 5 people in the OR, and 3 iv pumps going, all trying to save her. She made it out of surgery but all the fight was gone, she had nothing left. The Dr called me and told me she was declining rapidly. I made it to the clinic within minutes and when I got there her organs had begun to shut down. She was still alive but sedated, she could hear me as I kissed her and said my goodbyes. A couple of the techs & I hugged each other and we were all crying as she was humanely euthanized. She didn’t even make it to her second birthday, which would have been in September. As this involved emergency life saving treatment including radiographs, ultrasound, medications, surgery & finally euthanasia the bill is staggering. After losing my senior dog just three weeks ago, I’m gutted and feeling a bit overwhelmed If there is anyway you could help, please consider it. Thank you.
