Greetings Everyone!
My name is Shedeline Similien, and I am a third-year student at the University of Florida majoring in Health Science with a minor in Food Science on the pre-research track. I am thrilled to announce that this year, I have the honor of representing the Theta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated in the Miss Black and Old Gold Scholarship Pageant as Contestant #2!
The skills I’m gaining through my participation in the pageant—such as public speaking, leadership, and networking—will be invaluable as I work to advocate for better research and clinical trials that include diverse populations.
The experience of competing in this pageant also allows me to demonstrate my commitment to service and leadership, traits I will carry forward into my future career. Whether it's through mentoring other aspiring scientists or leading research initiatives, I am determined to use my platform to make a lasting impact in the health sciences
Your donation will help me carry the torch for future generations of Black women in science, paving the way for greater representation in healthcare and research. Together, we can uplift and empower young women like me to continue striving for greatness in education, research, and beyond.
Thank you for believing in me and in the future I am working toward!
