Miss Becky Needs Our Help Relocating!

As I think about my love for learning, I cannot overstate the importance Miss Becky had in my education. For many of us, Miss Becky was a wonderful part of our daily lives at Tyee Elementary School and the greater East Vancouver community. For over four decades Miss Becky created a classroom that instilled creativity, kindness and curiosity. I certainly would not be the person I am without her and I think many of you may feel similarly. Miss Becky retired several years ago and moved to the Sunshine Coast with the intention of settling there. Unfortunately due to a series of truly terrible circumstances, Becky is having to move at an age that should be reserved for all the things she loves; painting, nasturtiums and feeding raven friends! Becky has limited mobility and for that reason, moving is especially costly. Not to mention the ever rising costs of BC housing! We have created this fundraiser to help offset the hardship of moving and the cost of her new rental to let Becky know that her community remains around her during this difficult time and always!
