Hi and welcome to Miss Anita's "Memorial Bench" GoFundMe page!
February 2022 update:
I have ordered the benches and they will be shipped on June 7, 2022. I hope they arrive before school ends so everyone can see them! We are a bit short of our goal so I have made up the difference for now. I am hoping we can get there:) Check out the picture below to see what the main bench will look like!
Miss Anita (Anita Warmack) was a dear friend in the community whom taught preschool through SCUSD's parent participation pre-school program for 32 years. She always said her students were the participating adults as well as the children. Having been one of her "parent" students for three years, I was able to see how she helped families build a strong foundation. Hearing from past students at school board meetings validated what I had come to understand. Her impact was large and she will be missed by many.

We are looking to raise $2,700 for two benches in her name at David Lubin Elementary School. The first will be a custom red bench (her favorite color) that reads "Miss Anita" across the back and placed near the playground where she played with her students. The second will be a backless red bench and placed near her classroom. I am hoping to raise enough to place a plaque in front of it that reads "Catch them being good ~ Miss Anita".
Anything over the donation threshold will go toward garden beautification.
Donating via cash, check, or Venmo can be arranged and will in-fact save us fees from using this platform. Oversight of the money collected will be by myself and the David Lubin Librarian Jeannie Kane. I will be responsible for installing the benches and uploading photos to this site once complete. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions:)
Also, please share a story or any special thanks to this amazing woman whom had an impact on so many lives.
