Miss Abbigale Olbekson @ Sanford

3/7/2020 We rode to Fargo by ambulance. She was intubated that night because she went into shock as a result of influenza. After a couple days of things looking up she ended up going back into shock as the previous episode of shock deprived her intestines of blood and died. Shes had 9 surgery's since and had 60+cm of her small intestines and 20cm of her rt colon removed. Her bowel was in 4 pieces for several wks. Her small intestines and bowel are still disconnected. She will need atleast 1 more surgery. Until then she will have an ostomy. She had a wound vac to drain fluids from her abdomin and a chest tub draining fluid from her lung lining. She had mrsa & pneumonia. Between her chest and abdomen She had tubes coming out of 4 different places at one point. She was intubated for 5 1/2 weeks. When she was extubated she was so weak from being sedated & in bed all that time that she couldn't hold her head up or use her arms and legs. She's making progress but tires easily. She still cant sit up or stand by herself. She is regaining some use of her arms though.  Last weekend her dr said that he was optimistic about her progress and if she kept progressing as she had the week before we could expect to be out of the picu by the end of the week. Over the weekend she began vomiting from withdrawals due to weaning her off the morphine, versed and presodex. Monday she woke with a temp 103° (not even close to her record of 106.7°) but nonetheless xray and ct scan revealed she had aspirated some of her vomit and had developed pneumonia for the 3rd time.  As of today we've been in this room 68 days. During that time we have had no income and wont have any income until abbi leaves the hospital which could be weeks yet. I know alot of people are having a hard time with the covid stuff so I'm not really expecting anything and wouldn't even ask if it were for the fact that bill's are due again in 2 weeks and I'm almost out of funds. If anyone out there is able to help we would be so grateful. Please and Thank You!
