The Misraq Education Initiative is working with 75 underprivileged youth from Grades 1-5 at the Misraq Ghion Pre-Primary and Primary School in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, to provide these students with instruction in Natural and Environmental Science, mathematics, and English. Our goal is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where every student can thrive and imagine a brighter future.
As a daughter of Ethiopian immigrants, I have seen firsthand the challenges that many children in Ethiopia face when it comes to education. Ongoing conflicts have made it difficult for countless students to continue attending school, and even those who are able to go often lack the basic resources that make learning engaging and meaningful. Too often, these students are forced to give up on their dreams and settle for careers that do not fulfill them, simply because they did not have access to the right tools and opportunities.
With your support, we will be able to purchase essential educational supplies, including 3-5 simple light compound microscopes, 75 binders, paper, pencils, pens, colored pencils, and 20 Chromebooks. These resources will allow us to offer hands-on learning experiences and help students stay engaged in their studies. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in the lives of these children. I invite you to donate and help spread the word about this program, so together we can give these students the opportunities they deserve.
