Miso’s Vet Bills

He’s so vocal and follows me from room to room, and runs down the stairs to greet me every day after work. At night he kneads on top of me and settles on my chest to snooze.
This past month, he began to lose weight rapidly. Then he stopped eating completely. Taking him to the vet, I found out that he has a multitude of problems including: anemia, a heart murmur, pancreatitis, kidney cysts, and liver problems.
After trying four different foods and other meds like pain killers and anti-inflammation pills, we decided to put in a feeding tube and start steroids to target his gastro-intestinal problems. The anesthesia that he received days ago is still very present as his liver is having trouble flushing it out.
He was taken back to the vet for a check up and after some further blood work, it was found that his electrolyte levels were very low, and I’d need to get him on IVs and have him stay in the ER for the weekend.
This so far has cost thousands of dollars, and just for this weekend alone will be another approximate $3,500 for a “maybe”.
I want to give Miso a fighting chance. He’s the sweetest and most loving cat I know and whether he makes it through this or not, I’m so grateful for the overwhelming love and support I’ve gotten over the past few weeks.
Thank you.
