Aleks and Erin took their young, 5-month old puppy, Misha, to the Vet ER on the late night of June 23rd after she swallowed too large of a bully stick and had some traumatic moments. She spent the night there, and it was determined that the stick was lodged in her esophagus near her heart. An endoscopy was then unsuccessful in removing it, so she went into full sedated surgery to then move it into her stomach, and then to remove it directly from her stomach. Although it was a very risky surgery, it was successful, and she awoke from the sedation. She stayed at the ER Vet another night for monitoring.
She made it through the night and her physical in the morning was good except for extreme lethargy, likely from depression since the longest she'd been away from Aleks and Erin to this point was only a few hours, and it had now been over two days.
Misha's esophagus has a lot of healing to do and may come with future complications with scarring, but as of this writing, Misha is doing okay and enjoying her chicken stock snow-cones.
Aleks and Erin are left with a very large vet bill and I want to help them recover from this traumatic event in the easiest way possible by not having to worry about their recovering fur baby AND a big bill to pay. Please help me in easing this burden for them so they can focus on Misha's recovery. I am so grateful for any help you can provide them!
