Mische while she's sick

Hello. My name is Mische Locke. I am a 32 year old trans woman living in the Southeast of the United States. The last few years have been exhausting. I was one of those unfortunate enough to not only catch coronavirus but also suffer the debilitating effects of "long COVID" for over a year afterward. The pandemic ate through our savings and we nearly lost our home. I am currently on a leave of absence from my work due to several of my chronic health conditions flaring up and am not sure when I will be able to return. This morning, my spouse's vehicle died and I do not have one myself. To say, "We are struggling," would be an understatement at this juncture.

I have always sought to be kind. The sympathetic ear to those in distress. The meal for the old man with the cardboard sign and a dog sitting by the interstate exit. The reassuring hug when someone feels like they're falling apart and needs to be held together. Now, I am putting my faith in the kindness of strangers. I'm hopeful that you'll be able to help me buy the time I need to heal or, barring that, you'll share my story with those you know and they will. The amount listed will help us get through these woods, but anything at all will get us one step closer.

The first priority of any funds raised will be to repair my spouse's vehicle and make sure that I can receive treatment and return to work. Beyond that, the priority is on keeping up with our home payment, utilities and essentials since our cupboards are bare and my spouse's income, while full-time, is insufficient to get us through on its own. If we are somehow able to raise beyond those parameters, any funds will go to covering my recent 12-day hospitalization.
