About the Mirror Face Fund
The average price of a children’s book in the U.S. is $20, making it difficult for over 53% of American households to afford them. To facilitate the widespread understanding and adoption of self-acceptance and self-love, we are making it a priority to provide free copies of the children's picture book Mirror Face to underserved children across the country, partnering with public school systems and other strategic partners.

In February, we are partnering with the Atlanta Public School system (APS) to provide 30,000 copies of the book to their students. For every $18 contribution, Three families will receive hard copies of Mirror Face.

What is Mirror Face?
A children’s picture book about self love which teaches youngsters that the truth of who they are can only be seen when looking at the mirror in their hearts

Why does APS need Mirror Face Now?
-Children books about key social emotional learning concepts like self-love are incredibly important right now.
-72% of APS schools apply for Title 1 funding making it difficult for the schools to invest in social emotional resources like Mirror Face.
-Highest low-income schools across the state are in APS districts. This socio-economic reality makes it difficult for caregivers to buy the social emotional books their children need
-Low Literacy: 67% of students are reading below grade level within APS. Mirror Face employs an upbeat, lyrical verse for greater concept accessibility, and invites repetitive readings and easier retention.

Why 30,000 PreK-3rd graders need this message now?
-A child’s most formative years are during PreK—3rd grade making the message of Mirror Face essential for this group.
-By age four, children begin to gain a sense of “me” and concerns about how other people think and feel about them start to emerge. These feelings can impact a child’s courage to express their unique gifts and authentic attributes. Let’s help these children celebrate instead of hide from the unique parts of themselves.

Why Atlanta?
Atlanta is known as 'The city is too busy to hate…but not too busy to love!' What better way to reflect love to the world than through the children of Atlanta

Why Now?
During difficult times like the present, when children are distant from one another, self-love practices have never been more important.  The message of Mirror Face and the movement around the book aim to teach self-loving mirror practices to both children and adults. Join in on the movement now!
