UPDATE: 

Mom came home, but was back in the E.R. before Christmas. She just had another surgery and is finally back home again. For now she is staying at Yolanda’s house. It looks like mom will not be going back to her house. We are looking into either selling or renting, and may need help in the next few months to clean out the house. We have updated our financial goal since we are now solely focused on hiring professional help to take care of mom, medical expenses, etc. Every little bit helps! Please donate and share! Hi, my name is Danielle, and I'm fundraising for Mirian Barba and her family. Many of you know her as Mirian or Rosita. I know her simply as "mom." She is my best friend's mother and is always willing to be a mother to whoever needs a little extra love.

Hola, me llamo Danielle y estoy recaudando fondos para Mirian Barba y su familia. Muchos de ustedes la conocen como Mirian o Rosita. La conozco simplemente como "mamá". Ella es la madre de mi mejor amiga y siempre está dispuesta a ser madre de quien necesite un poco más de amor.

Unfortunately, mom suffered a cerebrum stroke which resulted in brain surgery and numerous procedures. After surgery, mom struggled with an infection. At the hospital and rehabilitation facility, it has taken 3 months of recovery and extensive Speech, Occupational and Physical therapy for mom to have shown significant improvements. Mom is relearning pretty much how to do everything again because her stroke affected her coordination and balance. If you know her, you know her daughters and granddaughter are her life. She has dedicated everything to them and we know she is fighting this battle for them. Mom has a long recovery journey ahead. She needs our help to take care of her family and her bills while she continues to recover. Mom can no longer work or support herself financially like in the past.

Desafortunadamente, mamá sufrió un derrame cerebral que resultó en cirugía cerebral y numerosos procedimientos. Después de la cirugía, mamá tuvo problemas con una infección. En el hospital y el centro de rehabilitación, la madre ha tardado 3 meses de recuperación y una extensa terapia del habla, ocupacional y física para que la madre haya mostrado mejoras significativas. Mamá está aprendiendo a hacer todo de nuevo porque su accidente cerebrovascular afectó su coordinación y equilibrio. Si la conoces, sabes que sus hijas y su nieta son su vida. Ella les ha dedicado todo y sabemos que está luchando esta batalla por ellos. Mamá tiene un largo viaje de recuperación por delante. Ella necesita nuestra ayuda para cuidar de su familia y de sus facturas mientras continúa recuperándose. Mamá ya no puede trabajar o mantenerse financieramente como en el pasado.

This has impacted her and her daughters significantly emotionally and financially. Mom is still in a rehab facility and will move to a short-term living facility until her family can get everything in order for her to come home. Mom requires 24-hour care and will require assistance with basic daily actions such as getting up from bed to use the restroom, etc. Her daughters have a challenge ahead but will do everything they can to ensure their mom gets home and gets the best care she needs.

Esto le ha afectado a ella y a sus hijas de manera significativa emocional y financiera. Mamá todavía está en un centro de rehabilitación y se mudará a un centro de vida a corto plazo hasta que su familia pueda conseguir todo para que vuelva a casa. We appreciate all the prayers, visits, phone calls and monetary donations. They are greatly appreciated and have been helpful. Any monetary donations will go to mom's unpaid house bills accumulated since September, making home renovations to make her house handicap accessible, her care (24-hour care) and anything regarding her health (medicine, equipment, etc.). Her daughters will take on part-time jobs to offset and ease as much as possible. We are trying to raise enough money to bring mom current with her bills since her emergency in September and get her through to at least April.

Mom has worked hard her entire life, and those that know her know that she would help anyone as soon as you called her. Mom, with God’s help, says nothing is impossible. That is what she has instilled in her daughters and her granddaughter. She is a woman of faith who immigrated to the USA and helped her daughters on the path towards success while helping the community. Amid all circumstances, God’s grace, peace and joy are there.

Mamá ha trabajado duro toda su vida, y los que la conocen saben que ayudaría a cualquiera tan pronto como la llamaras. Mamá, con la ayuda de Dios, dice que nada es imposible. Eso es lo que ha inculcado en sus hijas y su nieta. Es una mujer de fe que emigró a los Estados Unidos y ayudó a sus hijas en el camino hacia el éxito mientras ayudaba a la comunidad. En medio de todas las circunstancias, la gracia, la paz y la alegría de Dios están ahí.
