Hi friends and HUMC family,
I am reaching out to you for love, support and help! A month ago, our dear friend Miriam was at work when she suddenly became ill and had to leave work. ( which we know she never leaves work) After 2 weeks of many, many tests and procedures at HUMC the doctors were unsure why she became suddenly ill, but they did know that her liver was failing making Miriam very sick. It was recommended that she get transferred to Columbia University Medical Center to meet with a liver specialist. After another week of tests it was decided that Miriam’s liver was failing too quickly and she would need to undergo an emergency liver transplant. After 3 attempts to find the perfect liver, Miriam received a liver transplant on August 14. Miriam is doing well and continuing to get stronger each and every day at Columbia, but still has a long road to recovery.
If anyone can get through this difficult battle, we know that Miriam can ! She is constantly surrounded by her loving and supportive family. But her family is faced with the burdens that arise with the ongoing medical costs, loss of income, and the expenses associated with travel and parking in the city. Your contribution will help sustain the family’s financial stability during this difficult period.
Your support, no matter the amount, will make a world of difference in Miriam’s life. By donating to this GoFundMe campaign, you can play an essential role in relieving their financial burden and ensuring a better future for Miriam. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on Miriam’s life and show our appreciation for all of her years of helping her community and assisting patients at HUMC. Miriam has dedicated her life to helping others and now Miriam and her family needs your help.
On behalf of Miriam’s family and her HUMC family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support during the challenging time. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
