Miriam & Ronald Tookes and Jason Barnes Jr

On Monday, our family experienced a devastating tragedy and has changed our love forever.

My mother, Miriam Drains-Tookes, and my stepfather, Ronald Tookes, lost their lives in a fatal car accident. The sudden passing of both of our parents has left our entire family heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief.

My son, Jason, was also in the vehicle during the accident and by God’s grace, he is currently in stable condition but is awaiting surgery and facing a long road to recovery. He is the only survivor from the car and he gives me the strength to keep going.

Unfortunately, my mother and step father did not have life insurance, and we are now facing the unexpected financial burden of arranging their funeral and burial. At the same time, we are doing everything we can to support Jason’s medical care and ensure the needs of the surviving children are met.

We are asking for any help you can give during this incredibly difficult time. All donations will go toward:

• Medical care and recovery needs for Jason

• Temporary support for the children left behind
