Miranda's Complex Cardiac Condition

Miranda is an Amazing, strong, independent 16 year old who has more of her story to share with us! Miranda was born with special needs and has overcome many obstacles without having a diagnosis for many years.  Her family finally could connect all of her medical problems with a name when she was diagnosed with Myhre Syndrome. Miranda has been through numerous surgeries in her short life. This has never delayed her personality! On July 3rd Miranda was admitted to UCSF Benoiff Childrens Hospital...and this is where she is today. Miranda had extensive heart surgery and was up and walking and transitioning through with great progress and then complications set-in. Miranda even asked her mom if she was ever going to go home. Miranda is currently on ventilatory support with hopes of extubation this afternoon. Surgery is not an option at this time and the doctors are trying everything they can to medically manage Miranda. Our hopes are that she gets to leave the hospital soon. While she is there, she is lucky to have a mom and dad who are able to be at her bedside 24/7...unfortunately though, mom has not been able to work and even parking at the hospital is an added expense that parents pay out of pocket. Any money gifted will be used to continue to pay household bills and uncompensated care of Miranda.
