My name is Leslie combs and I’m starting this campaign on behalf of my best friend Miranda Burgess and her sweet 11 year old daughter Leah.

On the morning of December 1st, 2025, Miranda and Leah were shaken by an unimaginable emergency: a fire broke out in their home in Millers Creek NC.

While we are eternally grateful that Miranda and Leah are physically safe, the fire caused extensive damage to their home, making it uninhabitable. They are now displaced and facing the overwhelming reality of rebuilding their lives from scratch. This tragedy couldn't have come at a worse time, just weeks before the holiday season.

Miranda is a loving single mother and is the sole provider for her daughter. She pours everything she has into giving Leah a safe and stable life. Now, their stability has been completely uprooted. Unfortunately Miranda didn’t have fire insurance leaving all the cost for repairs to be able to move back into the home all on her. Any funds raised will go directly to Miranda and Leah to help cover the cost of repairs to their home and replace any necessities damaged by fire, smoke and water from the fire dept. Walls, ceilings, framing, floors and all the electrical wiring will need to be replaced before they can return to their home. Miranda would never ask for help for herself and would give the shirt off her back to help others, so I decided to do this campaign to help her and Leah. she’s always supportive of others and always lends a helping hand.
