August 28, 2016 my father turned sixty years old. Eleven days later he suffered cardiac arrest. By the grace of the Almighty my Father's story doesn't end there. Miraculous beats continue, but not without one of the most incredible chain of events! My Father and Mother were enjoying a quiet evening at home. They had just finished dinner, and a movie (Monster Money). Mom believes my Father got up to use the restroom. She then hears a terrible grunting noise (like my father had stubbed his toe terribly bad). She rounds the corner to discover him face down on the floor. She attempts to rouse him to no avail, and immediately calls 911. The operator tells my Mom she needs to get my Father on his back. My Mother, not without tremendous fight is unable to move my Father to his back. The operator tells her to find help. She runs out of their townhouse in an attempt to find help (they had just moved there six weeks prior). She knocks on the upstairs neighbor's door with no answer. She then knocks on the other upstairs neighbor's door. With no answer at either she runs around the townhouse just as the first neighbor opens his sliding glass door, "Do you need help he asks". My mother franticly tells the man what happened. Amazingly enough this man places his 17 month old child in a crib. He grabs off his counter a CPR kit and mask. The day before he was asked to demonstrate CPR to a group of cub scouts. As he runs out of his townhouse another man from the townhouse complex notices the kit and offers to help. They rush into the house and roll my father on his back. The man from upstairs delivers CPR while the other man properly holds my Father's head (believe it or not this man's name is Angel). They continue with CPR until the ambulance arrives. Once in the ambulance my Father is brought back to life seven times they say. He wasn't meant to leave yet. My Father is alive today with the initial help of my Mother, and most definitely their neighbors. It's hard to tell if without their help the ambulance would have been able to successfully bring him back to life. It really doesn't matter though he's alive today! Aspiration sent junk into his lungs, he may have a cracked sternum, and fractured ribs. His heart, brain, and the rest of his body check out fine. A defibrillator has been surgically implanted. He is weakened, but this is to be expected after the trauma to his heart. My Father and Mother are in need of help at this time. Luckily they do have insurance, but we know all costs aren't covered. It's hard for them to ask for help, but I know at this time they're in need. If you feel compelled, any donation will be greatly appreciated. Luckily they don't have Facebook, so I can anonymously provide them with the proceeds of this fund. If unable to donate, please share this story with those who may. I appreciate, and thank anyone in advance for any donations received. My Father and Mother have always given their children (3) all they have. I am grateful my Father remains alive!
