Miracle Smith Memorial Fund
Donation protected
As teachers, our students are an extension of our own family, but even more so when you teach the same group of students two years in a row. So when you hear the news that a student you've taught for the past two years in kindergarten and 1st grade has suddenly passed away from a tragic drowning accident, it hits you as hard as if you were hearing this news about one of your own children. Miracle was a special little girl, with a big smile and a heart of gold! This entire group of kids was truly like a family and loved one another (even after two years together, in the same classroom....LOL). In honor of this spirit, we, as a class, want to remember our sweet Miracle. Many people have reached out to me and other members of our staff asking what they can do to help, so I am setting up this page to collect donations for our class to do something special at our school in memory of Miracle. We will do one of two things, depending on the amount of funds we collect: 1) install a new piece of playground equipment at our school with a plaque in her memory, or 2) plant a large tree on our playground with a plaque in her memory. If you are a local and want to donate straight to the school or into her memorial account, you can go to any Arthur State Bank and donate to the Miracle Smith Memorial Fund. Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated towards the hotdog fundraiser that is coming up on Saturday, July 25. Money leftover from this fundraiser (after helping the family with funeral expenses) will go towards our school memorial.
