On Sunday, February 28th, my oldest sister Martha McKee was put on a ventilator after battling Covid for a little over three weeks. Martha has been raising her three daughters by herself since her husband, James, passed almost sixteen years ago. Martha has two adult daughters, Krystal and Kristy, and a teenaged daughter, Kelly who are her whole world.
Martha never meets a stranger that doesn’t become a friend. She will give the shirt off her back or her last dollar to help someone else. Martha has never, to my knowledge, asked anyone for help. She would rather struggle, than be a burden. Martha would be upset if she knew I was asking for help on her behalf.
However, there comes a time when you must ask for help. Rather the help is spiritual or financial. If Martha pulls through by being weaned off the ventilator she will have a lengthy recovery. However, if things take a turn for the worst and other arrangements must be made, Martha doesn’t have life insurance.
On behalf of Martha, Krystal, Kristy, and Kelly,Thank you in advance, as this is heartbreaking, scary and trying times.
Please continue to pray!
