Hello, my name is Cecilia. I am a single mother, and my only son, Camilo, is 26 years old. He is currently in the ICU, fighting for his life after undergoing surgery for a severe liver infection that spread to his right lung.

When doctors tell a mother that her son has an 80% chance of not surviving surgery, it is the most terrifying moment imaginable. By the grace of God, he survived. Camilo remains in critical condition and is connected to a ventilator and a lung drainage system. He still requires at least seven more days of hospitalization.

Any contribution you are able to make toward his hospital bills will directly help support Camilo’s recovery. We do not have medical insurance, and the expenses are overwhelming, but my son still has so much life ahead of him.

Since the day he was admitted to Hospital de la Familia (FEMAP) in Cd. Juárez, we have witnessed miracles every single day. The doctors, nurses, janitors, and security guards all know him now and kindly ask me about his condition daily. I am endlessly grateful to the incredible medical team and staff whose dedication has saved his life time and time again.

Los médicos le dieron solo un 20% de probabilidad de sobrevivir la cirugía, pero lo logró. Aún permanece en estado crítico, conectado a un respirador, y necesitará varios días más de hospitalización. No contamos con seguro médico, por lo que cualquier apoyo económico será de gran ayuda. Camilo tiene toda una vida por delante.
