Miracles 4 Melissa M.

In June 2020, a parent's worst nightmare happened unexpectedly.  Our bright, energetic, sweet Melissa fell ill. Melissa's father Melvin,  noticed his daughter was not looking or acting herself.  What began like a seamless limp, rapidly progressed into a complete inability to walk, see, or function in the way we are used to seeing his sweet girl.  After an immediate visit to a 24 hour Urgent Care doctor, they were  referred and admitted to our local Children's Hospital.  Expedited and extensive testing went on for a week before it was determined that she had a  brain tumor that needed to be removed immediately.  


Fast-forward 3-weeks: Melissa is doing remarkably well, but her rehabilitation is a long one.   Having to relearn everything: like talking and walking, we will not truly understand the full extent of the long term effects.   She has miraculously started remembering her siblings names, recognizing family, and on her way to recovering.  But our family needs assistance and support.  


My brother-in-law, Melvin, has been doing the very best he can as a single parent to be strong and supportive to both Melissa and his 7  -year old  Jeremiah and Joshua. The family was in the process of moving prior to Melissa's illness, and all that is happening with the Covid shutdowns/closures,  this has severely impacted his ability to work, furnish the home, travel to and from the hospital, secure consistent child care for her brothers, and many other post recovery expenses.  He does not own a vehicle and  is struggling to support his healing daughter (currently still in the hospital during the 1st stages of rehab) and his young twins financially, emotionally, and spiritually.   In addition to the  medical costs for her current and long term rehabilitation,  they are a family in need of many basic household supplies and food .  All funds received will assist this family during  this heartfelt crisis.   Thank you in advance for any donation that you are able to give.
