Flood the Field (with Love)
Miracle League of Arkansas is more than baseball: It is an opportunity to challenge, understand, and redefine the capabilities of individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. In the last 13 years, over 1,700 players have stepped up to the plate, got a hit, and scored a home run with their Buddy – volunteers who have spent over 78,000 hours creating magic on the field for the players and their cheering families.
On June 7th 2019, our specially-equipped ball field was completely covered with water from the overflowing Arkansas River. One week later the flood water receded, revealing the damage. We must remove, clean, sanitize, replace, relay, and repaint over 24,000+ tiles.
Our goal is to have the field recovered and repaired by Aug. 24th, just in time for our fall season.
Miracle League of Arkansas is a place where our players can just be kids and our families can relax, enjoy the game, and cheer their player on-just like every other parent in America. It is vital that we meet this goal for our fall season for our players, their families, and the volunteers that help make the dream possible.
