Miracle for Marcy

Donation protected
Many of you know Marcy and her family and have supported them over the past year, as Marcy has battled Chronic Lyme Disease. Marcy and Doug are so grateful for your prayers, love, and financial gifts. If you follow Marcy's CaringBridge site, you know that despite 9 months of treatment, her health has not improved. She continues to suffer from extreme fatigue, pain, weakness, insomnia, and depression. She has been unable to resume her ministry as a pastor in the United Methodist Church and uses a wheelchair or walker on the bad days. Despite all of this, there is new hope. Marcy has the opportunity to begin an alternative treatment protocol that has had a high degree of success with other Chronic Lyme patients. But in order to make this a reality, Marcy again needs our help.

Marcy was officially diagnosed with Chronic Lyme in November 2014, but most likely was infected over 30 years ago as a child. She suffered many illnesses throughout her life that were most likely the result of Lyme, which has been called the Great Imitator.

In August 2014, Marcy developed flu-like symptoms and her health deteriorated over the next few months. She developed mental and neurological problems, memory loss, severe fatigue, intense pain, and lost control and feeling in her limbs. She saw many doctors and was tested for everything from leukemia to rheumatoid arthritis to infections diseases and blood clots. She was referred to Mayo Clinic, but they declined to accept her as a patient. In November, she was finally diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease, along with two of her children, Addie and Camden.

Over the next several months, Marcy and her kids made multiple trips to Missouri and NE Iowa. She began IV antibiotic treatment in December. No doctors in Central Iowa will treat Chronic Lyme and most of the visits and treatments are not covered by insurance. In February, she had a major flare up and spent 3 weeks in the hospital with severe pain, tremors, and convulsions. Since then, she has continued receiving high doses of antibiotics via IV and weekly visits from a home health nurse. Marcy is currently living with her parents, as Doug works to replace the flooring in their home after it was suspected that mold might be preventing Marcy from going into remission.

Recently, Marcy connected with a local woman who had been in similar condition, but has had great results with a new treatment through Christian-based Conners Clinic in Minnesota. Marcy has had a phone consultation with them and after reviewing her medical records, the clinic has accepted her as a patient.

The treatment involves a technology called a Rife Machine, which uses light frequencies to stimulate organs that have been taken over by Lyme and improve the immune system so that parts of the body that have succumbed to the disease will begin to fight it. They also use a holistic approach, looking at allergies and focusing on diet, detoxification, and supplements. Conners Clinic only treats people with Chronic Lyme and serious forms of cancer. They have an 85% success rate!

Although Marcy and Doug do not currently have the $16,000 needed to pay for this treatment, they have chosen to move forward with it. They believe this is Marcy's best hope and that God will find a way to provide the resources they need.

Marcy will be traveling to Minnesota the first week of September 2015 and will spend 2 full days having each of her organs scanned to determine which organs have been affected by the Lyme. Given her neurological symptoms, they are confident that her brain stem has been majorly impacted, but believe other organs have been compromised as well. Following this procedure, Marcy will return home with a Rife Machine and a computer to begin daily treatments. She will return to the clinic for 3 more visits over the next 2 years. If all goes well, she could begin to see progress within a few months.

Everyone who knows Marcy would agree that she is one of the most kind, loving, faithful, inspirational people they have ever met. If anyone can take this horrific experience and use it to create something good, it will be Marcy. She has already connected with thousands of other people who are suffering with this disease. Marcy's incredible faith and ability to communicate will make her a powerful force for change and bring hope to countless people who are suffering in a hopeless situation.

Several of Marcy's friends created a prior GoFundMe page and held a very successful fundraiser in February that has been a huge blessing in helping the Stone family fight this battle. Recently, almost $1400 in new funds have been donated through the original page, which will be of great assistance in helping them move forward. This new GoFundMe page is intended to create new awareness for Marcy's current situation and raise the additional funds needed for the new treatment.

If you are not already following Marcy's CaringBridge, here is a link:  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/marcymonologues  Please note that financial gifts made through the CaringBridge site support the CaringBridge organization, not the Stone family. If you wish to help Marcy and her family, please make your gifts through this GoFundMe page or directly to the Stone family.

If you have helped Marcy in the past through prayers, meals, cards, visits, or financial support, thank you! The entire family is so grateful for the generosity you have shown. Marcy continues to need our help in order to find the healing she so desperately needs and deserves. A donation of any amount to this current campaign would be a huge blessing and would go a long way toward helping find a miracle for Marcy!
