MIRACLE FOR MIA
Where do I begin...the story that I would like to share with you is about my daughter, Mia, who turned 15 years old this year on May 11th. Mia just completed a successful surgery on her left knee for a torn ACL and MCL injury that occurred during soccer practice just a few weeks before her 15th birthday. A week later, Mia had difficulty breathing and unusual sharp pain near her front abdomen and lower back area after which she was taken to the emergency room for further diagnosis. A follow up CT scan revealed a "suspicious" mass in her chest and abdomen. It has been four weeks since Mia's initial diagnosis of cancer and her first chemotherapy treatment. However, after further review, Mia's final diagnosis has been confirmed at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN). Mia is diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS) that has metastasized. Through all the prognosis and diagnosis that Mia received about her cancer, she has been so high spirited and accepts her condition in such a positive manner that I frankly never expected. Mia has said, "no matter what happens to her, this experience will be something that can be passed on to other young people of the world to get them through cancer". For those who know Mia, this is how Mia thinks and is full of compassion to others. Mia's Mother, Amy McGivern and I are most proud of Mia and admire the confidence and determination she has directed towards this unfortunate circumstance in her precious young life. If friends and family can come together to help with unexpected, uncovered medical expenses, our family can focus on the fight, and battle this destructive cancer without the additional stress and worry of mounting medical costs.
Please help by donating, sharing this page and praying for a Miracle for Mia. All monetary donations go directly towards Mia's medical expenses. Together with modern healing medicine, prayers and the power of strong faith and belief, I implore everyone to help Mia attain the best possible recovery and to defeat this nasty cancer that resides in my daughter's body.
With your support and prayers, Mia will beat this cancer and will be greatly appreciated by Mia, myself and our entire family!
My daughter is a bright, strong girl who has strong faith, incredible determination and amazing support from family and friends. We thank GOD for showing us what was wrong. We pray for His healing hand and unwavering comfort.
