Miracle Wheels for Whitney
Donation protected
My name is Pamela Cartmell and this Go-Fund-Me effort is to provide “Miracle Wheels for Whitney.” I met Christie and Whitney Clark in 2004 at Hosea Community Church in Nashville Tennessee. We were members of the church, we both live in the East Nashville area, and we became good friends. I encouraged Christie to share their story with the world because we are looking for, and need, a miracle.
Although Whitney was first diagnosed with the chronic disease Lupus at the age of six, we have since that time experienced one medical crisis after another. This present bout truly put our faith to the test. On November 17, 2018 she had somehow contracted shingles. Shingles is a painful virus that for anyone else would cause blisters and nerve pain on the body. However, because Whitney is immune suppressed, the virus attacked her from the inside out. She had shingles in her brain, throat, back and face. The virus caused nerve damage which resulted in hearing loss in her left ear, diminished sight in her right eye, paralysis of her vocal cords and paralysis from the waist down.
When asked what their present need was, Christie replied, “Our miracle is for us having the right vehicle to safely get to and from scheduled appointments (a wheelchair-accessible vehicle). Right now, I can schedule transportation to pick Whitney up to get back and forth to her medical appointments, but sometimes there are difficulties going to and from appointments. Additionally, this service is not available for outings to the grocery store, to the park with her daughter, or just getting out for a drive. Having a wheelchair accessible vehicle would be greatly appreciated. The new vehicle would allow for Whitney to be a passenger as well as a driver; because one day we believe that she will drive this vehicle!
We have nominated two vehicles of choice: (1) A 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L Plus – total price $83,767.30 of which $38,351 is cost for Adaptive Equipment. (2) A 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT - total price $67, 962.40 of which $42,112.00 is cost of adaptive equipment. Should there be any additional funds forthcoming, they would like to use those to help offset home renovations that are currently being done, additional vehicle warranties, and future medical bills.
Christie and Whitney will continue to wait upon the Lord and give thanks for all that He has done, is doing and will do. Our team cannot express our gratitude enough for all who have prayed and continue to pray for Whitney’s healing. We would also like to thank you for your thoughtfulness and your generosity in helping us to reach our financial goal as stated above.
If you prefer donating by check, money order or cashiers check please send in care of Whitney Clark to:
