Miracle in Motion: Support for Dad’s Recovery
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
We come with heavy hearts to share that on March 4th, 2024, our world was turned upside down as our dad was involved in a horrific collision that has left him fighting for his life in the ICU. His injuries are severe, with multiple fractures and shattered bones in his left arm and leg. Currently, he is intubated and on a feeding tube, and will undergo several surgeries during his time in the ICU. Thankfully, his first surgery was a success - the surgeons placed rods and nails in his left shin from his knee to his ankle in order to begin the healing process.
Our dad is more than just a figure in our lives; he is an unwavering beacon of strength and resilience. At the young age of 10 he was sent to America, away from his parents who remained in Nicaragua. With determination, he forged a path from the depths of adversity, building a life from the ground up through decades of relentless work at his small business. For the past 35+ years, he has tirelessly worked 6/7 days a week in order to provide for our family. He alone has supported and given us the most beautiful and comfortable life that he never had.
We are asking for our community to support us in any way, whether it’s by partnering with us in prayer, and/or financially. The hospital, business, personal bills, and physical therapy will be extremely extensive along with continuing to financially support his employees. Unfortunately, our dad currently has no insurance due to a missed payment but we are believing God's going to show up and perform a miracle. Our dad has worried about money his entire life and it is our turn to carry the burden for him.
We are at the very beginning of a long journey of healing, recovery & physical therapy since he will have to learn how to use his limbs again. We thank you all for your love and support, and will continue to keep you updated here as we know more.
Love,
Paulina & Sofia
