Dear family, friends, brother and sisters in Jesus Christ.
As many of you know, I have been studying Studio Art at Pensacola Christian College. I believe that the Lord puts people in our path of life not only to be changed, but to show more love -God’s love, and make Himself known through our actions.
I have truly been blessed this 2018-2019 semester to have not only a roommate but a sister in my life. Ioana Barrie’s story truly shows God’s graciousness and miracle.
Ioana was diagnosed with heart issues after having seizures on August 1, 2017, and then again on September 18, 2018. She was diagnosed with Pre-Ventricular Contractions ( PVCs) and High Blood Pressure in 2016 though doctors weren’t sure how it was possible.
After her first seizures, the doctor ordered an ECG which showed that she has a Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) which is a hole in the heart in addition to 3 heart murmurs. After telling Cleveland Clinic that she has a PFO that her Cardiologist wanted closed due to her symptoms, Cleveland agreed to have one of their 2 doctors that are experienced in PFO closure to do the necessary surgery.
The cost for the initial appointment and EKG is $500, then the doctor will order an additional ECG and stress test before surgery. We are praying that surgery will prevent her seizures as most seizures are triggered by the heart. Currently, medications are keeping things stable, but she still experiences heart issues and seizures. I know that prayers are very powerful. Please pray with me. It would be much appreciated.
