Miracle Fund: Helping Dan through medical challenges & cost

Hi there, my name is Dawn and I've created this fundraiser to help my/ our Dad and Mom cover bills and expenses due to my Dad falling ill.

Buckle up,

June of 2024 is when devastation hit my dad & our family. Dan was going in for a routine colonoscopy. From there is where my dad's health declined. The proceedure caused a perforation in his colon, which lead to 24 hour internal bleeding after no help from where the procedure was done. Hours after the phone call, my mother Wendy brought Dan to the hospital where he suddenly had 2 massive heart attacks due to the internal bleeding and unknowing blockage.

His medical journey in less than a year has been:

- colonoscopy

- 2 massive heart attacks, then a stint put in his heart. Suffering 12 broken ribs in the process.

- finding out he had colon cancer but was removed during the initial procedure.

- removal of colon, and now has a stoma. Colostomy bag for life.

- kidney function decreased rapidly causing a multitude of issues requiring month long stays in the hospital.

- Dialysis 3 times a week, and the devastation continues. We just recieved more news,

Dan has been diagnosed with

Multiple Myeloma. A rare, uncurable blood cancer.

Throughout all of this my mother has been there, taking caregiver leave, and blowing through their savings. Dan has had to retire due to medical reasons. And now that he has a blood cancer it will require chemotherapy. Our mom is now caring the household weight. Myself and my siblings are helping but my sister being pregnant, myself a single mother of 2 kids, my brother having his sudden medical issues, requiring a colonoscopy, we are doing our best but we need help. To help cover costs of bills and costs that are not covered with insurances. More days off will be required of my mother and they can not afford it.

If you can help Dan and Wendy in anyway it would mean the world to them and our family. We don't know what else to do. They need help. This is hard to do as our family has pride but sometimes it's ok to ask when it's too much. The help given will be huge, deeply and whole heartily appreciated.
