Miracle for Wraith

Donation protected
Hi, My Name is Lori Hooks and I started this drive to keep family and friends updated during this traumatic time with the birth of my grandson Wraith. Wraith's parents, Alexa and Travis will need to spend time with their son during his recovery and the last thing they should worry about is finances.

On March 16th, 2023 My daughter Alexa went for a routine pregnancy check-up, it was during this check-up that the Dr was concerned as they noticed the baby was in distress. They had to do an emergency C-section with no time for her to have any support system with her. Alexa delivered Wraith weighing in at 6.5lbs, however, the staff had to perform CPR as he was not breathing. The hospital where Wraith was born did not have the proper equipment to help him and they rushed him to another hospital 30 miles away and placed him NICU to get proper treatment. Mother and child were separated at this time as they could not transport my daughter to be in the same hospital as her son.

Wraith has been getting oxygen with the help of a breathing machine and other monitors along with daily testing. Wraith has received 3 blood transfusions within the past 6 days. He has completed the hypothermia treatment, a 72-hour process to reduce any possible swelling in the brain. He was placed in a warming station and will continuously be tested to hopefully not have any signs of long-term disabilities. We only have daily updates and were given best-case and worst-case scenarios, as they stated he was a "significant case".

Wraith's body is starting to swell from the medications and treatments. They are unable to bathe him or use any kind of lotion for his dry skin that is now starting to slightly crack and peel. He did get an MRI and we are waiting for the results to come in. The little guy has been through so much in such a short -time and we are hoping for a speedy recovery.

Everything happened suddenly, both parents were forced to stop working sooner than they anticipated. They are 45 min away from where their son is hospitalized and My daughter is unable to sleep in a chair by his bedside as she wishes she could, due to the medication she is taking and the healing she needs from her surgery.

We want to thank Everyone for the good wishes and prayers for Wraith's recovery, please continue to keep them in your prayers. This is Alexa's first child as well as my first grandchild. We will continue with updates and again any donation is helping Wraith's parents to continue to be there for him as he is closely being monitored for a healthy recovery.
