As some of you may know, my brother-in-law, Andrew, has been unwell since June of 2019.  What we thought was a bad flare-up of ulcerative colitis ended up being bowel cancer.  Although inoperable, the Doctors hoped to shrink the cancer with radiation.  Unfortunately, the tumor is growing at a rate faster than the radiation can shrink and the doctors have decided to cease treatment.  Andrew Monk is the father of my three beautiful nephews, Owen, Cian and Ruary, and husband to my amazing sister-in-law, Anni.  Andrew has devoted his life to serving God and taking care of his family.  Although New Zealand offers universal healthcare, Anni has had to reduce her hours to care for the boys and Andrew, causing a financial strain.  Many of you have asked how you can help, especially with them being so far away, and this is one of the few ways I feel we can help ease their burden.  Money is not something the Monks should be worried about at a time like this.  I'm asking you all to donate what you can and to pray for this precious family.  We all love you so much, Andrew.
