Help Save Max: Our Loving Cat Needs Lifesaving Surgery

Hello, my name is May Palaypay, and I’m humbly asking for your help to save our beloved cat, Max.

We adopted Max in 2022 to be a companion for our other fur baby, Mylo. Max is a 4-year-old neutered male Tabby-Lynx Point, and he is the sweetest, most affectionate love-bug you’ll ever meet. He gives cuddles like a pro, kneads biscuits like a little baker, and fills our home with pure joy.

Max came from a household with multiple large dogs and cats, where he was being bullied by another cat. His former owner was heading back to university and could no longer care for him, so we welcomed Max into our family with open arms. From day one, he brought us comfort, warmth, and so much love.

A Life-Threatening Emergency

Just one week after bringing him home, Max suddenly had trouble urinating. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where we were told that he was blocked — crystals were clogging his urethra, a condition that, if left untreated, would be fatal.

We were devastated. The vet recommended immediate surgery, quoting $5,000 — but we had just moved into a new place and didn’t have the funds. She told us the only other option was euthanasia. We broke down. We couldn’t imagine losing him so soon. We asked for time to say goodbye.

But we weren’t ready to give up.

I reached out to my animal-loving family, and they lent us money. I found another vet — one who gave Max a chance. He prescribed medication to relieve the blockage. We waited, prayed, and miraculously, Max was able to urinate again. That day, he was saved.

Since then, Max has thrived. He’s been a cherished member of our family — our “Chunky-Bunny-Boy.” Everyone who meets him falls in love. He gives us so much happiness. He deserves more time. He deserves health. He deserves a future.

But Now, It’s Happening Again…

On June 21, 2025, I woke up and saw Max in that same painful posture — straining to urinate, licking himself, clearly in distress. I knew right away — he was blocked again.

We rushed him back to the same vet. This time, it was a complete blockage. His bladder was dangerously enlarged. He needed urgent catheterization or surgery.

Thankfully, the vet was able to remove the crystals again and stabilize him. We caught it early. But this is the hard truth: this will keep happening unless Max gets surgery. Each blockage is life-threatening. We were lucky this time. We may not be next time.

We Need Your Help to Save Max — Permanently

The surgery Max needs (PU surgery — Perineal Urethrostomy) will prevent future blockages and save his life long-term. We want to do everything we can to make sure he never goes through this pain again.

We’re asking — from the bottom of our hearts — if you can donate even $1 or $2 toward Max’s surgery, it would mean the world to us. We are a single income family so every single dollar helps. Every share helps. Every act of kindness gets us one step closer to giving Max the safe, healthy life he deserves.

We are so grateful for your time, your compassion, and your support.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring.
God bless you.

With love and hope,
May, Max, and our little family
