Miracle for Mark and Kathy D

I am Jessie, Mark’s daughter in law, raising funds for Mark’s wife and family. Mark was battling Stage 4 esophogial and lung cancer, aggressive and stubborn and would not respond to the 3 different chemo treatments, it was difficult to continue working and his family is struggling with medical debt/living expenses. Because Mark was the main financial provider for his wife and children, it was an anxious and sad past 8 months as they sold everything they could to keep up. I am continually asked how others can support, and my answer is prayers and financial relief as that causes so much stress and impacts every single decision Kathy is making right now.

Here is their story: 

Mark the Italian Stalian, beloved husband, brother, father, papa, friend, coach, chef, athlete, fisherman, snowboarder and entrepreneur was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2021. Sunday morning March 27 at 5:30am he was rushed to the emergency room as he was unable to breath. Mark stayed strong and positive through his chemo treatments, the cancer started to shrink but unfortunately quickly got worse within a few short weeks. The chemo began to impact his health in February. Towards the end of March, he was given a prognosis of 3 months left to live, he decided to end chemo treatment hoping it would give him relief to enjoy the last months of life with his family. His oncologist stated that is was the most aggressive cancer he had seen. Mark’s family surrendered to Jesus and prayed for a miraculous healing, and prayed for God’s will to be done. Mark said he had never experienced the deep love, supportive relationships and the powerful presence of our living God until his diagnosis. He said, “this is what it took for me to have an encounter with the Holy Spirit, it’s all been worth it.” He fought surrounded with prayers and love by the church community at Rhythm church in Oceanside. Mark was not afraid to die, he was fighting for his family and to use his testimony to bring others to faith. Gods plan for Mark was for him to be with Jesus and we will see him again in heaven, Mark left this earth March 27th around 7pm. 

Mark wanted his wife to be taken care of above all else, he loved his wife and wants the best for her. He cared for her financially and supported her and his family for the last 13 years.

These funds will specifically be for Mark’s medical bills, and possible memorial costs.
