Our Story:
This is from my brother Facebook page!
Our sweet 5 year old daughter Esther Rebecca Faith had an eye appointment yesterday 5/2/22 with a pediatric eye specialist. During the exam he said her vision is fine but he found something to be concerned over and another doctor at the clinic had same concern. They sent her to Children’s Hospital in Omaha for MRI Late last night then doctors came and told us they found a growth in her head and she was admitted. They called it pontine glioma.
Early this morning 5/3/22 the neurosurgeon came by and said that it is not a viable option to surgically remove.
We were told just a while ago. My brother Jims words, Well that sucked. Oncologist team just left. Said nothing they can do either. Just treat inflammation and palliative care and given 4-9 months. sending a referral for make a wish. Possible trial at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota!
We’re asking for prayers to cover her and heal her in Jesus’ name
We’re devastated as a family.
Again anything to help lesson this gut punch for our finances with medical cost and as my brother and sister in law will not be able to work as much to fight this head and they need help to lesson the financial burden this is going to cause as a family.
Update -
The team of oncologist came by earlier and talked to us about next what we thought would be options. There are no options or treatments. They can prescribe medicine to help with inflammation but that is about it. There is clinical trial we will find more about tomorrow that is in Rochester at Mayo. They set us up with Palliative care and gave us a time table of 4-9 months. Miracle needed here!
They are contacting make a wish foundation in Esther’s behalf and are speeding up the process because of prognosis. Very thoughtful of them. We are continuing to believe for her Miracle and push for a complete healing.
We will continue to update as we know more and believing and praying for Esther miracle!
