Dear friends,
Never would I have expected what waited for me at the end of last and the beginning of this year! So good that we don't know what the future holds!
Well, it was and is Breast Cancer!! It certainly was a big shock, like for all of you sisters who had to go through it. IMPERMANENCE definitely becomes more real!
Let me briefly tell you a little about the type of breast cancer that was dicovered: It is stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma, that's the medical description, the most common breast cancer, diagnosed in the Bay Area. It has been kind of comforting to not have to deal with it alone. It has been so helpful to hear the stories of other women.
I am recovering well after a lumpectomy last Friday waiting for the lab result at the end of this week - to let me know if I need chemo and radiation or just radiation. Please, let's pray for just radiation...
Although I really don't like it I have to talk about my financial situation:
Last year's income was really minimal because of lack of good touristic work for me. Other work like tutoring or massage have not been substantial enough. With the impact of the new cancer challenge my financial future feels incredibly uncertain. There are some tour guide jobs coming together this summer that I am very happy about, but don't know how to bridge from now to then.
That's why I created this website to reach all of you asking for help in whichever small or big way you can.
Thank you from my heart and
Namaste
which means someting like: I recognize me in you.
