Hello all, My name is Barbie Mir. I am a registered nurse and I reside in Pittsburg, California. I have been assisting families with the loss of their loved one's and their journey to carry them home to their final resting place. I am a mother still in mourning of my beautiful son who passed away on his 21st birthday on July 21, 2014. At that time I learned of how costly a burial and funeral expenses can be. I thank God that I had the financial means to pay for my son's burial services on his journey to his final resting place, but some people are not so fortunate, and I realized I can be of service and provide assistance. None of us ever think or talk about death and dying or the expense of the burial process.
I started this organization in the memory of my beautiful son. With this foundation we assist people who suddenly lose their loved ones and are in need of financial support, like buying foods for a wake (Dua), purchase of burial outfits a dress or a suit (Kafun), we assist families during and after death and dying of their loved ones with any needs such as providing transportation and finding resources to help through this process. We also provide services such as performing the last bath, wrapping of the body in a shroud, provide coffin box, food for prayer here and abroad.
We also offer wound care in the Fiji Islands because my son went to boarding school there and, and he was very passionate about the people there and volunteering with those who were in need. One day he brought to my attention the need for education on wounds that derive from the living conditions in Fiji. Since I specialized in wounds in nursing, after his death, I started going abroad to Fiji Island twice a year provide free education to people about wound care. I educate on wounds, such as diabetic foot wounds, venous, arterial, and pressure ulcers, and any issues with skin. I also provide care to these wounds under my scope of practice as a wound care nurse. So far, everything that I have done for my foundation was done by my personal earnings. My end goal is purchasing a funeral home in my city and to provide free services in my community.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money for Mir Miracle Foundation Corporation so we can continue to provide these services, and any donation will help create an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and my beloved son.
