Hello, my name is Trent. We have the best staffy a family could ask for, her name is Minnie and has been in our family for 11 years.
Shes Kind natured, loves kids and especially loves to lay down in her favourite sun spot everyday.
Unfortunately on 5th of August at approx 2:20 am, two pitbulls have gained access to our yard and attacked our Minnie girl. The two dogs escaped the yard once I intervened.
Minnie was then left with extensive muscle tissue damage around her left arm and multiple punctures and a gash under the arm pit. Shes has been at the vet 4 days so far, the damage at first was thought to be only puncture wounds and the gash but during surgery the muscle tissue was found to be extensively damaged.
As well she was experiencing high fever temperatures which have now since been stablised.
Naturally requiring more pain relief, antibiotics and vet care. As she still isn't out of the woods yet, she may need a second surgery as some of the tissue may not take the first time.
But for now we are taking
it one day at a time and are just focused on getting her comfortable and home with her family.
Initially the vet bill was going to be $1300 but has now since changed to $3700.
Any help at all is much appreciated, we/local council are trying to currently find the owners of the dogs that attacked Minnie but no such luck yet.
