Minnie’s Final Journey: Goodbye Old Friend
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I never thought I’d have to write this, but my baby girl, Minnie, is nearing the end of her journey. Minnie is my 8-year-old Boston Terrier, my best friend, and my constant source of love and joy.
For the past two years, she has been battling a rare and complex blood disorder. After her first transfusion, she was believed to have thrombocytopenia, a condition affecting her platelets. But as time went on, her diagnosis remained uncertain—specialists suspected Von Willebrand disease, but further testing ruled it out. Despite countless vet visits, specialist referrals, and extensive testing, no medical therapy has been able to stop her decline.
Minnie has now developed non-regenerative anemia, meaning her body can no longer produce the red blood cells she needs to survive. Over the past two weeks, I’ve watched her health deteriorate rapidly. She is tired, weak, and despite everything I’ve done to help her fight, I can no longer deny that she is suffering.
I’ve made the heart-wrenching decision to give Minnie a peaceful transition—a final act of love to free her from pain. As heartbreaking as this is, I want to ensure that her last moments are filled with comfort, dignity, and love.
I am humbly asking for help covering the cost of her euthanasia and aftercare. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward:
A gentle, in-home euthanasia so that she can pass in a familiar, loving environment.
Aftercare and cremation, allowing me to keep a part of her with me always.
Minnie has given me eight years of unconditional love, and now, I want to give her the peace she deserves. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser or simply sending a kind word means the world to me.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love and support.
With gratitude,
Aaron
