With the Minnesota State Fair canceled, we are COMMITTED to holding the Minnesota Junior Barrow Classic as the premier youth swine show of 2020!
Unfortunately, we have had several corporate sponsors that have a broader stance related to not sponsoring events this summer. Though we understand this approach, it leaves us in a tough spot to pull the event off financially in it’s existing format.
We believe if we can raise $5,000 we can reasonably continue the event in its form as a live show, skillathon, showmanship and judging contest.
We believe with a very strong certainty, we can host the event provided we solve the funding challenge.
The Minnesota Junior Barrow Classic has grown into the largest statewide youth swine show in Minnesota. We stated in 2009 with 23 exhibitors and 49 head. 10 years later, 2019 brought us 204 exhibitors and 346 head.
Unlike other youth events in our state, this event is not exclusive. You do NOT need to win a trip. You do NOT need to chose one animal to bring. It is solely about kids and their development. No politics. No agendas. Just about providing an experience for youth.
If you believe in the value that youth livestock events provide, please consider donating. There is no greater opportunity to impact youth in the summer of 2020 in our industry than this event.
