Minneapolis Made Art Studio Closing

Hey everybody!
My name is Elena and I am the owner and creator of Minneapolis Made, an apparel company I started over three years ago in an attempt to turn my art into my career. It’s a platform where I can share and build community with young folks in Minneapolis, with a goal of expanding this community to young folks around the world!

I had success working with MN Students Stand Up for gun control and was invited to present to college classes about the process of starting your own brand. Candian Singer Jessie Reyez has rallied behind the call to “Support Female Artists'' on and off stage. Articles about my clothing designs can be found in local magazines like Mpls St. Paul, Pioneer Press & Minnesota Daily.

Throughout my journey, I have had the opportunity to connect with many amazing creatives and together we have worked to provide greater BIPOC and Queer representation within the fashion industry.
One year ago, I risked much of my financial stability. With the help of some friends who offered me a place to stay. I gave up my apartment and rented a small art studio in Northeast Minneapolis. This transition allowed me the physical space to further progress my company and support some local artists by sharing this space with them. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, I have been stripped of my two jobs outside of the business. Since this summer, I have been struggling to cover my own expenses alongside the cost of my art studio and in house production needs.
Over the years, I have worked so hard for my art studio to be what it is now and many have benefited from this space in their own creative endeavors.
I am on the brink of losing it all.

Your support will enable me to keep my studio open not only for Minneapolis Made, but for other young creatives who don’t have a space of their own yet. I’m very excited to announce that a generous local artist will be providing a matching fund! This means that whatever you give between now and January 20th will be doubled!
Plus all donations $50 or more, you will receive a “Support Female Artists” shirt!

I understand that now more than ever is a tough time to give and anything you’re able to contribute is truly appreciated. Through art and fashion, Minneapolis Made works to provide a space where all life is held with honor and respect. Where no cultures are marginalized, no language erased, no body shamed.
No matter who you are or where you come from, your complete self is welcome at Minneapolis Made Apparel.
