Right now in Minneapolis, families are being forced to shelter in place while ICE activity continues to terrorize our communities. Many are facing an impossible choice: stay safe, or keep up with rent. With work hours cut back or lost entirely, too many households are at risk of losing their homes through no fault of their own.
For many families, remaining housed means remaining safe. Secure housing allows people to shelter in place, avoid unnecessary risk, and lean on community care in the face of ICE intimidation. Housing is protection. When families are securely housed, they are less vulnerable to ICE targeting and displacement. Rent relief is not charity it is a frontline defense against occupation.
No one should lose their home because they are trying to stay safe. Behind every rent bill is a family doing their best to survive. Your support helps turn fear into stability. This community fundraiser exists to provide direct rent relief to families who are unable to work or are working significantly less due to these conditions.
The goal is simple: help our neighbors remain housed, stable, and protected during a time of deep uncertainty and harm.
Keeping families in their homes is an act of resistance and care. It is also an act of solidarity with our immigrant neighbors who are being targeted, surveilled, and traumatized by ICE enforcement.
Donate if you can. Your contribution will go directly toward rent relief for Minneapolis families.
Share widely to help this support reach those who need it and those who are able to give.
Stand in solidarity by choosing community care over fear and displacement.
This is what solidarity looks like, showing up, sharing resources, and protecting one another. Together, we can help families stay safe and housed.
When we take care of each other, we build safety where the system refuses to. Together, we can help families stay rooted in their homes and their community.
