Hi, my name is Adel, and this is my beloved dog, Minka. We moved to Vancouver 1,5 years ago. She’s been with me for 7 amazing years, but her life has been full of hardship. Minka was found when she was about 1 year old, after being abused and beaten, someone deliberately broke her leg, and she had an emergency operation at the shelter. Despite the orthopedic problems, I decided to adopt her, as I fell in love with her.

When I brought her home, it quickly became clear that she was deeply traumatized. She was terrified of people and highly reactive, so I did everything I could to help her feel safe, working with trainers and behavior specialists, which required a significant financial commitment.

Over the years, she has undergone six surgeries by my side, and I have spent every penny I had to make sure she received the medical care she needed. Unfortunately, because of these surgeries, her leg became extremely tight and shortened, causing chronic pain and affecting her posture. She struggles to stand evenly, and watching her live with this constant discomfort breaks my heart.

Her vets have recommended one last specialized surgery that could finally allow her to put her leg down properly, improve her posture, and relieve much of her chronic pain. Unfortunately, I cannot afford this surgery on my own, and I’m asking for help to give Minka the comfort and mobility she deserves. She would be operated in Hungary and it would cost 1100 CAD.

Minka is full of love. She still gets excited about treats, sometimes plays, and cuddles with us every day. Every donation, no matter the size, brings her closer to a life with less pain and more joy.
