Minivan for Eddie

On December 19, 2001 while still a college student, Eddie Williams Jr was sitting in his car at a gas station when someone decided to carjack him. The criminal shot Eddie Jr several times. One of the shots was to his head and the other bullets penetrated his abdomen and leg, leaving Eddie Jr in critical condition.
The doctors and surgeons evaluated Eddie Jr and informed his family that they had done all they could do and they did not expect him to survive through all of the surgeries. His family refused to give up on Eddie Jr and made all types of sacrifices. With the family making numerous transitions throughout the years, Eddie Jr is still with us today; alert, talkative, but with very limited mobility functions.
The past eighteen (18) years hit the family extremely hard financially but their love, faith and determination for Eddie Jr has proven to be victorious. At this junction the family is in need of better transportation to transport Eddie Jr. Eddie Jr is 6’5, @ 235 pounds and his parents transport him around in a PT Cruiser, which requires his elderly father to have to lift him in and out of the vehicle. Eddie Jr has outgrown this vehicle and the continuous bending and lifting on his elderly parents is not healthy.
This appeal is to request funds to purchase a wheelchair accessible minivan for the family to ease the stress and strain involving transporting Eddie Jr around. Help make this goal a success. Thank you for caring about Eddie Jr and his parents.
