BIO:

My name is C.J. Coy and I am the founder of Turf Warriors 4 Him Ministry. I have been in the industry for 23 years. I am married to my wife Kristen Coy and we said "I Do" over 19 years ago. We have 3 children; MicKenna who is 21, McKallie who is 18, and Carter who is 15. We also have a dog named Shadow and 2 cats, Colton and Cheddar. We currently live in Avon, IN, a suburb of Indianapolis. I have 3 degrees; 1 being an Associates in Horticultural Technologies from Vincennes University. The other 2 are from Purdue University. A bachelor in Turf Science and a minor in Food/AG Business Management.

MINISTRY BACKGROUND:

This Ministry was placed on my heart 6 years ago. God was telling me that there was a need for a Light into the Darkness within the Turf Industry. Being in this industry for this many years, God has opened my eyes to the many hours worked, stresses of the workload, families getting the leftovers, trying to make ends meet, and trying to get up everyday to do it all again. While working my different jobs and positions within the Turf Industry, no matter where I was, I saw the same thing over and over again. Seeing men and women in this industry who are very weighed down, have no where to turn, and usually turning to other things of this world for comfort. At the beginning of 2020 God provided me a stepping stone to step out in Faith, to take this Ministry on full time. I currently have a part time job trying to make ends meet for my family as I lean out in Faith for this Ministry to grow. God was getting louder of the need out there and then the pandemic hit! Fast forward to beginning of 2021 when many were reaching out to me for prayer and sometimes just an ear to listen to or a shoulder to cry on. Spending my most recent time at the Carolinas GCSA Conference and Trade Show a few weeks ago I also felt the need for this Ministry so much more! God spoke and said it is time to take this to the next level!

 

OUR MISSION:

A ministry focused on listening and helping those in the Turf Industry by spreading the word of Hope, Faith, and the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ!

OUR VISION:

To be available and empower individuals surrounding the Turf Industry that are battling circumstances beyond their control by forming a Ministry to help with those needs

LAST YEAR'S DONATIONS:

Thank you so much for all who donated last year! Much appreciated! I was able to get the 501c3 Paperwork started along with attending the National Conference in San Diego and give the Opening Prayer for the Conference by the Invitation of Mark Jordan. I was then invited to be the Guest Speaker at the Fellowship Breakfast at the Carolinas Show in November of 2022 over my 40th Birthday!

 

WHAT TO EXPECT WITH DONATION:

With your donation to the Ministry it will allow us to continue to lay the ground work as God continues to open up more and more avenues with all those we continue to come in contact with.

The Next Things On The List Are:

1. Funds to complete the Non-Profit status Federally (501c3) and State Wide

2. Scheduling several Men and Women's weekends over the year for individuals to come together and connect at a deeper level. Donations going towards reserving locations, meeting spaces, activities, food. (Possibly an October Date, Stay Tuned)

3. Keeping the website up and going for those to find us and connect with us. (Donations going towards the website fee and domain fee.)

4. Funds for travel cost and membership fees to be a part of and attending Turf Conferences (Heading to Orlando in February)

5. A podcast to reach many more of those in the Turf Industry. Donations going towards the need for a new computer, headphones, microphones, and equipment. Also funds to travel and interview individuals with in the Turf Industry

6. Funds to allow me to make this a full time position so that I can continue to grow the ministry and provide for my family

7. Expanding the Ministry to Regional Chapters. Funds to help with equipment and any needs that would arise

To see God's plan finally come together over these years would make me speechless! So many times I tried stepping in the way of God's plan or not looking for help, only to slow Him down in trying to reach so many more. The moment that I made it more of Him and Less of me did I start to feel God working in me and through me. My eyes were open to what He was seeing and how many individuals were needing Him! I am so grateful for ALL of you for your continued support and I am excited to see what we can all accomplish for this Turf Industry going forward! What a better and brighter place it will be!
