Campaign Introduction:
At the historic Capital Prize Gold Mine in Georgetown, Colorado, we're more than just a tourist attraction – we're a living classroom. We offer an award-winning, hands-on mining experience that takes visitors on a journey through the fascinating world of precious metal extraction. But we're not stopping there! We're on a mission to connect the past with the future by integrating cutting-edge recycling technology into our educational programs.
Our vision is to install a powerful dual-axis sheer shredder, a machine capable of transforming discarded materials into reusable resources. This will empower us to expand our STEM-focused educational programs, offering school groups and the general public a unique opportunity to learn about the crucial roles mining and recycling play in building a sustainable future. By combining the rich history of gold mining with the exciting possibilities of modern recycling and composting, we're striving to create an unparalleled learning experience. We’re mining the past and forging the future, and we need your help to make it happen!
About the Team:
The Capital Prize Gold Mine team is a passionate group of educators, historians, and mining enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the legacy of Colorado's mining history while inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers. Led by Greg, a seasoned mine manager with a deep understanding of both traditional mining practices and innovative technologies, our team is committed to providing engaging and educational experiences for visitors of all ages. Our experienced tour operators bring the history of the mine to life, guiding visitors through the various stages of gold extraction and demonstrating the principles of density, drilling, hauling, rock crushing, and material separation. With the addition of the dual-axis sheer shredder, we will further enhance our STEM curriculum, demonstrating the practical applications of science and technology in addressing real-world challenges. We’re excited to share our passion for mining, history, and sustainability with you!
