My name is Lenny Montes and I am Minerva's sister. Quite honestly, I don't even know what to say here, but I'll try my best.
To those that know me... My sister is a huge reason why I am who I am, and our parents have dedicated their lives to care for her and be in the service of others. Minerva was born with a medical condition that gave her a life expectancy of 6 months. She was with us for 39 years, a true gift! Minerva was joy and love personified, and everyone that knew her has shared how their lives were touched by her constant smile "no matter what". She loved the color purple, butterflies, Betty Boop, Tweedy, handsome men, and was a no bull kinda girl!
Your donations will help our family take care of Minerva's final expenses, and give us the opportunity to help our mom through this difficult time to cover some of her living expenses, while she pieces together a life without Minerva. Because our father's health and mental state are fragile, our mom was left to care for my sister by herself, and has not been employed for many years. Nonetheless, along with caring for Minerva, our mom launched a non profit called "Un Regalo del Cielo" (A Gift From Heaven), to honor my sister and her fight while she was with us and provided support to programs and schools serving families caring for children with special needs in El Salvador. Minerva felt a great sense of pride and purpose because of the work that was being done and the many people she was helping, and we hope to be able to continue to carryout the many plans Minerva and our mom had for the foundation.
During her final year of life, Minerva suffered from many different medical conditions that strained her already fragile body. In her last days, she needed a blood transfusion and brain surgery amongst other treatments she was receiving. Minerva was a warrior like non other. However, in the end, her heart just couldn't take it any more.
My brother and I, who are the only relatives now in care of our parents, thank you immensely for your kindness, care, and love toward our family. At this difficult time, we have been strengthen by the overwhelming outreach from family and friends (near and far) asking how you can help us take care of Minerva's final expenses, and just as importantly how you can help our mother during this difficult loss.
We are able to also accept your contributions through Zelle and Venmo. You can reach out directly to me if you prefer these methods. We will reach out to close family and friends with details of the service once we have those. Please continue your prayers for strength and healing.
Minerva suffers no more and although she never was able to walk here on earth, now walks with angels. She knew no boundaries of love and so I'll quote her here "I love you, OK, I love you".
