Mindy's fight to the Supreme Court
Hello Friends! As many of you know I have been fighting for the past 3 years to restore my gun rights. In 2007 I attempted to cash a fraudulent payroll check to obtain money to get a place to live for my son and I, at a time when I was experiencing homelessness and addiction. Since that time, I completed felony drug court with the state of Utah, substance use disorder treatment, went back to school and obtained two masters degrees, started a non profit organization serving those with addiction issues and have my own group mental health practice as well. I have also been granted a full and unconditional pardon from the state of Utah. I have definitely paid my debt to society and then some. Yet, I am still restricted from owning a firearm.
My case was filed in Utah in 2020 and was quickly dismissed. We then appealed to the 10th circuit court, who on Friday, ruled against me. What this means now, is that my attorneys will file a petition for my case to be heard before the Supreme Court!! This is very exciting and we feel very optimistic about my case and very hopeful the court will choose to hear it. But the cost of taking a case all the way to the Supreme Court is A LOT. But when I realized how many people are supporting me and my case and have offered or asked how they can donate, I decided I would start a go fund me. I am so grateful for any support that comes my way and I look forward to taking this all the way with the help of my like minded friends. Thank you in advance for reading this, sharing it, donating or anything else. I will keep you all updated!!
