To whomever is visiting this page right now, thank you for giving my cause your attention! My name's Nate Salazar, I'm a 21 y/o old Artist/Studying Audio engineer from upstate New York and I go by miNDSet. For the past two years I've been persuing my passion for music. Over this time I've become able to produce and mix my own beats, make music with some of my closest friends in a group called Untouched, as well as have the opportunity to begin work at OmniZen Studios, located in Cohoes NY. Here I've been gaining real world experience and knowledge from my mentor, Shane Morris. Over the past year, however, my health began to become an issue. I had noticed pains in my left leg which lasted for days at a time, leaving me sometimes unable to walk. This progressively got worse come september, and I began PT to evaluate the issue. After two months of Physical Therapy and an MRI, we found a tumor spanning nearly 70% of my left femur, also presenting itself in the thigh muscle. On October 22nd, my life had changed upon being told that I have Ewing's Sarcoma. Although rare, treatment for this type of cancer is known to be very effective and with all hope and positivity, at this time next year I'll be cancer free. My purpose for this fundraiser is to prevent this disease from putting a hault on my dreams, and hindering my passion. With the medical treatment I'll be undergoing over the next year, I am unable to work my day job and unable to work at OmniZen. My absence will prevent me from fulfilling my obligations at the studio, as well as restrict my ability to create as I do not have the same equipment at my own home. All donations garnered would be put toward building a small yet effective home studio to allow me to continue to learn and create music, as well as maintaining our studio space for the coming year. Being that our space is rented, ensuring our location is secure is critical to continuing my pursuit toward a music career.
