It was January 2021, after 7 years of learning how to live and thrive with autoimmune disorder, almost 1 year into the COVID-19 pandemic, and the results came back: cancer. But that can't stop my sister!
Her name is Laura DeAngelis, she is 38 years old, stage-4 cancer, going through chemo, working with auto-immune disorder, and still the most positive, kick-ass woman you could ever know!
Through-out the past year, Laura has shared her journey on Facebook and Instagram @mindset2shine. Her positive outlook and attitude, radiate with such brilliance, as she navigates the good, the bad and the ugly.
She is current in the first set of chemo treatments. And although she keeps smiling and she will tell you she doesn't need anything the cost of cancer treatments, IG infusions and hospitals visits are not cheap. And there is a growing need for financial assistance. This is just the beginning of a long journey, and the climb continues to become more challenge with each step. The funding will assist with medical bills, acupuncture treatments, transportation to and from chemo sessions, as well as relieve the pressure of day to day bills during this time.
